A QUICK SUMMARY

From 1 November 2016, the SRA’s Continuing Competence regime will replace the previous 16 hours CPD requirement. Solicitors are now expected to reflect on their practice, identify learning and development needs and capture the key ‘take-aways’ from their ongoing professional development, whether in the training room or ‘on-the-job’, in a reflective Development Record.

Create your reflections at any time. It might be a reflection on the last year, the last 6 months, a recent developmental experience or even a ‘water cooler’ conversation with a colleague.

OM:Reflect provides a flexible vehicle for all forms of reflection.

OM:Reflect creates dynamic reports  which integrate:

  • Reflections
  • L&D Objectives
  • L&D Activities

With all the L&D information in one report, Reviews become seamless, enabling lawyers to focus on the review, not the paperwork.

Having identified your L&D Needs, you can create your L&D Objectives with the option to:

  • select which elements of the SRA’s Statement of Solicitor Competence or the Firm’s own competency framework the objective addresses
  • link them to specific L&D Activities designed to achieve the objectives.
L&D Activities are created and revisited at two key stages:

  • The Planning stage (to define goals)
  • On Completion
    • to identify the key learning points
    • to define the impact at work

The dynamic Development Plan pulls from the lawyer’s L&D Objectives and associated L&D Activities to automatically populate a bespoke development plan with minimum fuss.

The Development Record captures L&D Objectives with the current status of the linked L&D Activities. On completion, lawyers can capture development outcomes, key learning points and impact at work.

OM:Reflect dynamically combines Reflections, the Development Plan and the Development Record making it easy for lawyers to review their developmental progress.

Having created the Review, lawyers can link it to their Annual Declaration, captured on the L&D management interface.
